The Council's Role

The council offer a range of support materials and services to help you write, implement, support and monitor your travel plan.

To support you in writing your travel plan the Council have appointed a designated School Travel Advisor (STA) who is on hand to help you with all aspects of writing, implementing and monitoring your plan.

In terms of implementation, the council can help you achieve your objectives through a package of services that include both ‘soft’ measures – those that involve education or promotional activities such as cycle training, and ‘hard’ measures – which include re-engineering the school surrounds to aid the aims of the travel plan.
